What happens when you call the Thornton Police Dispatch Center?

The Dispatcher will ask you for your:
FULL NAME and YOUR STREET ADDRESS

Please be precise about your location. A landmark may be requested. Most streets are named and some houses have numbers, but landmarks have proven to be very useful in the past. For example, if you have a car in the yard, we may ask for it's make, model and plate number.

YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER:
We may have to call you back for more information. Have someone stay by the telephone. Also, please do NOT USE THE TELEPHONE until the help you have requested has arrived.

THE NATURE OF YOUR COMPLAINT
The more details the Dispatcher is able to obtain effect:
1. Response time.
2. Response by the proper units.
3. Adequate preparation of the responding units.

REMEMBER:
In a stressful situation, seconds seem like minutes and minutes seem like hours. Whatever the situation, try to stay calm. It will enable us to better provide the service you require.
